From the vault

As you may know, I'm a *very* sentimental person.  Not to throw caution to the wind, but my gut tells me that the Twinks are really coming.  It's likely going to be a long road, and probably not without trials, but if I'm right, come March, we will be adding two little ones to our brood.  With this on my mind all the time, I've started to look at Piglet differently.

Trying to imagine him as a big brother is both easy and impossible.  Impossible because he's my LITTLE boy!

My monkey!

My lovebug!

My baby.

How could he ever share those titles with anyone else?

It's also easy to imagine because he is so sweet to other babies and whenever I ask him if he wants a baby, he gets a very serious look on his face and nods his head.

I feel myself getting sentimental about his baby and toddlerhood a lot these days, cherishing our lazy mornings together and trips to the zoo and park.  Because I have always stayed home with Piglet, he's always been my #1 sidekick, received 100%+ of my attention.  We've been spoiled to have this amazing time together. But come spring, I know this is all going to change dramatically.

And while I am excited, so excited and thrilled and filled with lurve for Les Twinks, I can't help but worry about how I am still going to be the same devoted mother I am to Piglet.  How will he react to having to share so much of my time and attention?  I know that I am giving him the best gift in the world - siblings, but I am still wracked with guilt and worry about how his life will change in the immediate future.

If not for my gimpy ovaries and the need to speed up our timeline as a result, I would have waited one more year to do IVF, given Piglet a little more time to mature and be able to understand why I have to feed the babies before I can put his train track together.  Maybe I'm underestimating him and he will be just fine, helpful even.  Right?
Anyway, I've been watching a lot of classic Piglet videos lately.  I've posted these before, but since they're my favorites, I thought I'd post them one more time in no particular order. :)

April 2009 - I love this one because he says only one syllable "da" but is so expressive not to mention hilariously demanding!

September 2008 - The first loooong giggle we ever caught on video.

October 2008 - The first time Piglet truly mimicked anyone.

Little bit of everything

First off, this post is not my best work. I am well aware.  It's muddled and random and contains a lot of exclamation points.  But, there are a lot of pictures which, as we all know, can be all-redeeming!!! (see...)

My posts are usually very focused and cover just one topic, but this one is a bit of a mish mash.  Forgive me?  I'm a bit of a mish mash lately...

Okay, it's official.  We've started our cycle - I toss back about five different pills a day and right now just one shot at night, but if all goes according to plan, that will increase to four shots per day in a little over week.

Eek!

Exciting!

Nauseating!

Pass the sharps container!

In other news...I have been doing massive closet purges.  But, in case you didn't know, I am the consummate sentimental mother.  I mean, I am really out of control. I keep everything. The other day I found myself trying to decide whether I should throw out one of Piglet's baby socks. There was only one because the dog ate the other one. It is brown argyle and adorable.

Of course I KEPT it.

Because...he did wear it that one time with that one outfit and he was so cute in it and oh, I'll just squish it into this drawer and I know (!) I'll put it in his scrap book under "first sock the dog ate."  Genius!

SEE?  I'm sentimental to the point of silly.  Believe it or not, I'm not a complete pack rat because too much clutter bothers me, but I have a really hard time parting with Piglet memorabilia.  I know, I know. Rookie.

Anyway, my darling, nerdy, awesome husband just installed a new MONSTER hard drive into my MacBook and so I was able to merge all my other photo libraries into my 'puter.  This of course called for a trip down memory lane.

Come with me!

You know you want to!

It'll be fuuuuun!

Don't make me pull this car over!

Allow me to share with you what I found in my treasure trove of photos.  Pictures of Piglet and our dearest friends over the past year.

Kool and the Gang said it best.

Today I'm going to cellllllllabrate good times, come on!  Let's celebrate!  Why? Not only because it's Cinco de Mayo (ole!) but because exactly two years ago to the day, I finally, finally saw two lines appear on a home pregnancy test.  But first I had to feel defeated and throw out the test because the lines did not appear in two minutes like the box said they would.  Figures. Then about 30 minutes later, as I was writing to my URL friends about my second BFN, something compelled me to take the test out of the trash.  That moment has left an indelible mark on my soul.  No, I am not being overly dramatic.  It was soul-changing, people.  Happy could never sum up the glut of emotions I felt when I saw those two lines.  It was like crossing the finish line of the longest race of my life.

Never one to do things on a small scale (remember Piglet's 1st birthday?), I took a *few* more tests.  You know, just to be SURE.

I'll remember and celebrate this day every year.  It helps that May 5th also happens to be a major holiday and the wedding anniversary of our dear friends Pat and Mary (we were away at their wedding that weekend).
