Twenty five big ones

We have officially surpassed the viability mark by a full week! Les Twinkies have been cooking for a full 25 weeks as of today. I just went back and re-read my posts from right after I found out I was pregnant and then the ones after I found out I was pregnant with identical twins.

I was a leeeetle bonkers.

In fact, I believe I still am.

Perhaps I have always been.

I'm pretty sure Mr. K would say the last statement is the truest.

Getting back to the Twinks...

They have been gestating for 25 weeks! They are active and growing and their heartbeats are strong (I know this because I check every night, sometimes Piglet helps). Tell me that doesn't break your heart with sweetness. And were your heart not already broken by that admission, I would share that one of his top three favorite things to do right now is lift up the hem of my shirt, rub my belly, put his face next to it and plant a loud kiss near my bellybutton. Mmmmmmwah!

I SWEAR TO GOD.

And it's not like he's mimicking Mr. K either because Mr. K isn't quite that squishy and sentimental. He's more into making me eat lots of leafy greens and avocados and well anything that I can keep down. :)

So back to the Twinks, I could meet them anywhere between 10-12 weeks from now.

TEN TO TWELVE WEEKS PEOPLE.

And next week I will say NINE TO ELEVEN WEEKS.

And the week after that I will say...well you get the picture.

Soon both those numbers will be single digits.

We are closing in on the home stretch and I have started feathering my nest. Right now it's full of tiny white onesies and blue and white polka dotted sleepers for babies "Up to 7lbs."

There I go breaking your heart (and mine) again.

So you will forgive my cruelty (and keep reading!) tomorrow I will write about my hilarious and circular conversation with Mr. K about the car we need to buy in the next TEN TO TWELEVE WEEKS.

TEN TO TWELVE.

I just had to say it again.

P.S. I heard from Murgdan that it is International Blog Delurking Week! Wahooty! Remember my philosophy - to lurk is to love. But I would like to return your love (unrequited is soooo 1992) so pretty please if you read my blog, if you are entertained by my Piglet, if we inspire a little giggle from you now and then, leave a comment! It will thrill us to the very core. No, really.

10 to 12 weeks! It feels far away but also very close. Piglet is going to make one very fine older brother.

You look fabulous!!!

I too am just crazed over the fact I could meet my little ones in five to seven weeks - really????????? I would love to make it to 38 weeks but I do not think that is going to happen - I think my uterus is going to give up on us before then!!!

Ok, well since it IS International De-lurking Week and all, here I am. Love your blog!

So so cute!

I recently got out of attending Jason's dad's family reunion (at Christmastime) because I don't know any of them and since I'm an introvert and only have so much energy each day for being social, I didn't want to waste it on people I didn't know. Well it turns out that they were all really disappointed I wasn't there because they all read my blog!! None of them officially follow and none of them comment so it's just WEIRD to me. DELURK, PEOPLE! :)

Your writing is so cute! You're in the home stretch! Hang in there! I delivered mine at 37 weeks 2 days...I'm not going to lie, it was torcherous at the end, but from you positive attitude, you'll rock it! ;-)
Oh and btw, they don't last long in the newborn clothes! Although my daughter is a peanut, my son is already almost outgrowing his 3-6 month clothes and will be 4 months in 10 days!!

10-12 weeks! The first post of yours that I ever read was when you very, very first found out you could be pregnant. And that sure doesn't seem like it was long enough ago for there to only be 10-12 weeks left. Time flies, I guess. You look great, by the way. There's nothing better than cute pregnant bellies!

I'm a lurker too - a recent one, but I love reading!
Good luck with everything that's going on, 12 weeks doesn't sound like a lot at all...

P.S. - Found your blog through somebody...

Not really a lurker, as I have commented before, but we have never met. Love your blog; it's mighty entertaining, and I will pass it along to a friend who is expecting twins thru IVF. :) carrie

I will also delurk, since you asked so nicely. I don't remember how I stumbled on to your site, but I love the way you write, and get a giggle out of each post, and now I'm hooked on your story of your growing locker room of boys (I have two boys of my own, but finally scored a girl on my third, and last, try). Wishing you all the best!

You're writing makes me laugh and these days I can use a good laugh. I've been following your blog for a while and thank you for helping me "delurk." My husband and I are also expecting twins and we a just a few short weeks ahead of you. Best of luck, I will continue to read and follow your blog!

I also found you through Murgdan. Figured I'd honor De-Lurking week and say 'Hi!'. Congrats on your 25th week and your beautiful family!

I don't get a chance to lurk to often enough over here, but I just had to say that you look so cute! Great belly pic and keep up the good work mama!

I lurk on a regular basis...but I think you already knew that :)

I'm an on-again off-again lurker. I love your blog! You are so stinking funny and I find your wicked sense of humor delicious! And that photo of you, how is it possible that a woman 25 weeks pregnant with twins looks A) happy and B) so stinking CUTE!!! When I was 25 weeks with Peanut I was larger than a garbage barge! By the time she was born I was as large as an aircraft carrier.
Keep making us laugh out loud with your exploits as a parent.

Hi Ms. MVK,
I'm pretty sure you know I lurk on a regular basis, but I figure I'd leave a comment. Thanks for all the updates and making me feel somewhat connected to what's going on in PDX. Look forward to reading about the exciting times ahead. Miss you. Shalyn
